GBM Extraordinary General Meeting on December 14, 2009
The GBM Extraordinary General Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur on 14 Dec 2008 to make a decision on whether to register Girls' Brigade Malaysia with the Registrar of Youth under the Youth Societies and Youth Development Act 2007. 37 GB companies were represented and with other Exco members, a total of 43 votes were taken.
Joining ROY
There was a proposal from the Exco and GB Sabah also put forth a proposal.
After some debate and explanation from our legal adviser, a vote was taken whether to join the ROY or not. The outcome was 36:7 in favour of joining the ROY.
Formation of Girls' Brigade Alumni Association Malaysia (GBAAM)
The second item that was discussed was the formation of the Girls' Brigade Alumni Association Malaysia (GBAAM). The membership will include former members of GB (full members) and others (Associate members). This was accepted.
So, at the conclusion of the GBM EGM, another meeting was held: the inaugural General Meeting of the GBAAM. After the preamble, the draft Constitution was discussed and accepted. There was election of Office Bearers for the Pro-Tem Committee.

Membership is open to ex-GB above 21 years at RM20 per year
Associate Membership is open to others who support GB at RM15 per year
Life Membership is RM300.
