Young Leaders' Administrative Leadership Training

 

AIMS

 

Administrative Leadership -- Red Braid:
• To develop the ability to take their place in any group of people, and be confident to voice an opinion and support it.
• To gain an understanding of the responsibilities and duties of executive positions in a group or organization within or outside the church.

 

Practical or Assessment

Complete at least 2 practical assignments.
These must be supervised by an officer and assessed by her.

 
  1. Attend at least one meeting which is conducted in a correct manner of meeting procedure, e.g. Church business meeting, G.B. AGM or Exco Meeting. Make a report of your observations.

  2. Hold a position of an executive member of a group or organization and submit to the assessor, evidence of your work and participation in the group, e.g. Young People's Committee, Committee formed for a specific project (this must not be the same as in No. 4). Student Council (e.g. Prefects Board or Board of Librarians).

  3. Prepare and lead at least one discussion either to obtain a decision or help the group to have a deeper understanding of a problem or plan of action.

  4. Be responsible, either alone or with 2 or 3 others, to plan, prepare and conduct a special event, e.g. company

Pre-requisites:

  1. YLPT should have been completed and Gold Braid held at least 6 months prior to taking this course.

  2. Show developing ability in the area of leading girls engaged in recreational activities.

The Young Leader will be expected to contribute in discussions and take turns to lead in presentations. She would learn more about herself during this camp.

 

At the completion of this training, a Certificate of Merit will be awarded to her. She is to hand this to her Captain upon returning to her Company. The Young Leader will be observed for a period of 6 months where she carries out the Practical or Assessment. After this, upon the satisfaction of the Officers, she would be awarded with the Yellow and Red Braids and the Certificate of Merit.

Please encourage your Young Leaders to attend this Training as it would benefit her tremendously and also be advantageous for your Company as she returns with much skills learnt, and knowledge gained.
