Young Leaders' Preliminary Training (YLPT)

Young Leader's Preliminary Training - Gold Braid (for Seniors who are fifteen years and above)

A first for all girls intending to be Young Leaders.

The objective of this Camp is to increase knowledge about the Organization and to improve upon general skills that may have already been acquired in Brigade disciplines. It is also to draw forth an awareness to skills and qualities in leadership essential to that role. It is hoped that through learning activities this Camp may draw out that potential in the girl.

The camper will be expected to contribute in discussion and take turns to lead in presentations. This may yet be a time when she may learn more about herself.

At the completion of this training a Certificate will be awarded for attendance. The girl then, is to be further observed in performing duties which the Captain may assign for at least six months before she is assessed and considered for promotion to the rank of a Young Leader. (Distinguishing marks: gold braid, black lanyard and pocket haversack)

Only then may she attend the other Camps - YLGBSL, YLRALT to complete her training.
